Fiber Optics

The range of specialised adhesives plays a critical role in the field of fiber optics connectors, photonics, sensors and telecommunication devices due to its ability to bond metals, ceramics, plastics, and glass strongly.

Since the inception of fiber optic connectors and photonics development, adhesive technology has been extensively used in fiber optics manufacturing for the purpose of lenses, prisms, optical connectors, ferrules assembly, and many more related applications.

During the initial phase, only epoxy chemistry has been key in the connectors assembly due to its structural strength and bonding integrity. With the progress of adhesive technology, light-curable acrylate adhesive, and 1-Component heat-curable epoxy also contributed to the advancement of the fiber optics assembly process.
